Some comments regarding Culturlann workshop
This Thursday we went to the Culturlann McAdam O Fiaich Irish language centre on the Falls Road in west Belfast. Morris recalled going to the barbers opposite the arts centre when he was a young boy " No body worried who you were then " he said. Since this workshop was to be the last before Christmas, Emair, the centre's director was very helpful and organised a festive event centred around the personal decoration of Christmas bobbles. A collection of these were provided along with a range of different coloured graphic pens that we used to decorate the bobbles.
Moreen wrote happy Christmas in Irish on hers this started a lot of conversation about the pronunciation and spelling of '' Nullaig Shonna ", the Irish for Happy Christmas frenetically pronounced nulag cunna.

Visit to Belfast Exposed Gallery.
At a future point we will produce cameos of these by using them as templates.
Jack recalled the photographic Club he once belonged to. This was based in the Y.M.C.A. on the Albert Bridge Rd and took place every Wednesday night. Taking photographs with lights etc reminded Olive of her wedding in St Marks on the Old Hollywood Rd. Olive loves singing and at the time had been quite upset that her friends had stopped her from singing in the quire that day.

Axis Tour of St Ann's Cathedral, Belfast
We were shown around St Ann's Cathedral in Belfast by a Cathedral Guide, Paul. First stop was a beautiful side chapel who's mosaic's were the work of the sisters Gertrude and Margaret Martin, who created all the mosaics in St Anne’s over a period of seven years.
Bellow are some of the thoughts of our group during the course of the tour.
The tour was meant to involve some photography but I had forgotten to arrange cameras for people to use. Norman told me his dad had enjoyed photography and left him a couple of old Browne cameras after his death, he felt the Cathedral was a massive, massive place. Theresa was anxious to tell me she'd had a dream last night were she was in a large marble hall and was struck by the Cathedrals resemblance to the dream. She really loved the colours in the windows. As we walked into another of the small side chapels Moreen recognised an image on the wall that reminded her of times in the Brownies starting a small conversation about youth clubs as kids, Dug was in the Air Scouts and during a conversation after the tour in the Made in Belfast cafe, Catherine mentioned that he still wanted to go flying.
Olive said “ to day was a day off difference “

Folk Park, Cultra were we viewed the William Conor exhibition and looked around Bally Cutra village
To day was a bit of a damp day, but we had a look at the William Conor exhibition which is on at the minute in the gallery at the Folk Park, although on days like to day, cold, wet and uncomfortable it's got to be said that our imagination was drawn by the smell and promise of the coal fires in the small cottages of BallyCutra village and the knowledge that they were serving beef stew in the BallyCutra Tea Room.

11th Sept. Photographic workshop with Belfast Exposed in the M.A.C. Belfast
At the M.A.C. we had a bit of fun using a range of props prepared by Mervin. Hats, face masks etc all made the activity of taking group and portrait photos more enjoyable.
