We were shown around St Ann's Cathedral in Belfast by a Cathedral Guide, Paul. First stop was a beautiful side chapel who's mosaic's were the work of the sisters Gertrude and Margaret Martin, who created all the mosaics in St Anne’s over a period of seven years.
Bellow are some of the thoughts of our group during the course of the tour.
The tour was meant to involve some photography but I had forgotten to arrange cameras for people to use. Norman told me his dad had enjoyed photography and left him a couple of old Browne cameras after his death, he felt the Cathedral was a massive, massive place.
Theresa was anxious to tell me she'd had a dream last night were she was in a large marble hall and was struck by the Cathedrals resemblance to the dream. She really loved the colours in the windows.
As we walked into another of the small side chapels Moreen recognised an image on the wall that reminded her of times in the Brownies starting a small conversation about youth clubs as kids, Dug was in the Air Scouts and during a conversation after the tour in the Made in Belfast cafe, Catherine mentioned that he still wanted to go flying.
Olive said “ to day was a day off difference “
